John Grant Golson, 47, of Prairie Village, Kansas died Monday, June 12, 2000, at his home.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Kansas. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McGilley State Line Chapel.
Mr. Golson was born June 9, 1953, in Columbia to John and Dorothy Davenport Golson.
He graduated from Hickman High School in 1971, and from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in geology. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and served on the Geology Department Board at MU. He was vice president of KLT Gas Inc. and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He was a board member of the ALS Association - Keith Worthington Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Golson of Prairie Village, three children, Emily Golson, Grant Golson and Miles Golson, all of Prairie Village; his mother, Dorothy Golson of Columbia; a sister, Gayle Golson of Columbia, and a brother, Glenn Golson of Warrensburg.
His father preceded him in death.
Memorials are suggested to the Keith Worthington Chapter of the ALS Association for research.
