Joan D. Lewis, 61, of Jefferson City passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center after a brief illness.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, March 28, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home with the Rev. Marcus Reynolds officiating. Interment followed at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
She was born Dec. 5, 1952, in Columbia, the daughter of the late Floyd "Button" Lewis Jr. and Ida Lewis.
Joan was a graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia, and after graduation, she attended Atlanta Junior College in Atlanta, Ga. She had been employed by Jefferson City Manor as dietary manager.
Joan loved spending time with family, especially with her grandson, Chase. She enjoyed listening to Elvis, going to the casino, shopping and watching movies.
She is survived by one son, Famous Lewis, and his wife, Mandy, of Jefferson City; two brothers, Dr. Jabari Simama (Frederick Lewis) with his wife, Nisha, of Columbia and Jarrell Lewis of Atlanta; two sisters, Jill Lewis of Columbia and Charlynn Lewis of Atlanta; one grandson, Chase Lewis of Jefferson City; and longtime friend Herman Johnson of Jefferson City.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Jefferson Lewis and James Lewis; and one sister, Marcelyn Lewis.
Jerry Ray Nichols, 61, of Columbia passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 1, at Nilson Funeral Home.
Jerry Ray Nichols was born April 21, 1952, to Howard V. Nichols and Amy (Morris) Nichols at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
Jerry attended Ridgeway, Jeff Jr. and graduated from Hickman High School in 1971.
He lived his whole life in Columbia, except for four years of service in the Air Force.
Jerry worked as a senior computer operator for 32 years at the University of Missouri until his retirement in 2010.
He is survived by his mother, Amy Nichols; sister, Jackie Kreigh; brothers, David and Vince Nichols; sons, Ray and Dean Nichols; daughter, Vena Nichols; grandchildren, Kayden, Kaitlyn, Kayla and Kristin; nephew, Daniel Nichols; and nieces, Marissa and SheyAnne Nichols.
Jerry's father preceded Jerry in death on July 23, 1999.
Jerry was a devoted father to his three children and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Glenn was born Dec. 6, 1951, in Hayti, a son of the late Marshall Henry Sr. and Annie (Chase) Henry. Glenn was a 1971 graduate of Hickman High School.
After his graduation from high school, Glenn entered the U.S. Air Force in 1971 and had a 20-year career until his retirement and honorable discharge in 1991.
Glenn loved to collect memorabilia and was always well-organized in keeping records of events, paperwork and photograph books.
Glenn is survived by a daughter, Carmen Allen of Kansas City; a son, Jerome Jackson of Columbia; his twin, Lenn Henry of Fulton; seven additional siblings, Mary Anne Senior-Taylor of Flint, Mich., Marshall Henry Jr. of Farmington Hills, Mich., Richard Henry of Grand Rapids, Mich., Linda Sims of Toledo, Ohio, Larry Henry of Fulton, Phil Roger Henry of Fulton and Dianah Henry-Brown of Milwaukee, Wis.; two grandchildren, Keisha Allen and Darrel Allen; and one great-grandson.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Charles Henry, Carolyn Henry and Carl Henry.
